Take That star Jason Orange has reportedly swapped being a boyband icon for a career away from the spotlight. The 54-year-old singer's low-key life couldn't be more different from that of his fellow Take That stars Robbie Williams, Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald - who have continued to perform sell out tours for thousands of devoted fans. Robbie even released a movie called Better Man about his career.
In the 90s and early 2000s, Jason was one of the most recognisable faces in the UK thanks to Take That. However, when Robbie left the band in 1995, the remaining members decided to part ways after a short spell of being a foursome. The band reunited as a 'man-band' with Robbie joining them in 2015 for an album and tour before taking his leave once again.
Mark, Gary, Jason and Howard thrived as a four-piece until Jason shocked fans by announcing he was quitting for good in 2014. While his bandmates continue to work in the spotlight, Jason has reportedly chosen to go into business with Celtic football legend Neil Lennon and is said to be the co-owner of property business Nine The Firs.
A source recently claimed to The Sun: "Jason and Neil have known each other for a while and played in a charity football game together some years back. Neil has a firm and Jason has now come on board. Jason prefers to live a quiet life out of the spotlight but he’s got a real flair for property.”.
When Jason first left Take That, he said in a statement: "I want to start by saying how proud I am of what we have achieved together over the years. I have spent some of the best years of my life with Take That and I'd like to thank everyone who has been a part of my journey, including my bandmates, who I feel are like brothers to me.".
