Throw out the high-heeled pumps! These are the six fashion trends you'll be wearing in 2025 - and you might already have them in your wardrobe

For most of us, January means big coats and cosy jumpers, all style diktats thrown out the window while we recover from the party season. However, fashion never stops – and those in the know have already turned their attention to the new season trends set to shake up our wardrobe for the year ahead.
First the bad news. The spring/summer catwalks majored on out-there looks: trousers with only one leg at Louis Vuitton; Carrie Bradshaw-esque tutu skirts at Simone Rocha; dresses so sheer they show your knickers at Fendi. Fortunately, more wearable trends are also on the way – examples of which you’ll already own. Statement prints are back, so now’s the time to dust off anything with leopard spots or a plaid check.
Narrower jeans are replacing ultra-wide styles (hurrah!). And if your feet are still recovering from party high-heels, you’ll be pleased to hear that trainers are what to pair with dresses this season. Of course, the dawn of a new year doesn’t mean you need a whole new wardrobe. If you’re looking for a 2025 style update, here are five fashion-forward trends that can easily be copied from the catwalk.
In terms of tops, the style to be seen in is a romantic blouse. Balloon sleeves, ruffles, lace and pussybows are championed by the likes of Saint Laurent and Chanel. Think one part Stevie Nicks, one part Adam Ant. Blouse, £79, albaray.co.uk. If there’s one piece that will update your weekend and work wardrobes alike, this is it. Me + Em’s floral pussybow blouse (£175, meandem.com) would look equally good with a knitted midi and heeled boots as it would jeans and flats.
