Tom Hardy generously offered to pay crew of Guy Ritchie show £250,000 in lost wages

Tom Hardy offered to fork out quarter of a million pounds to pay for the wages of crew on a project he worked on after their contracting company went bust. The 47-year-old actor is in the cast of Guy Ritchie's upcoming Paramount+ and Showtime crime series Fixer - in which he plays a character named Harry Da Souza. The show will see Tom's character tasked with protecting a character that is in a family that is at war with a rival gang.
However, it was the real world lives of workers that the Oscar-nominated star was looking to protect, according to claims surrounding the project. It has been reported that construction workers were left without pay after the company that was hired to build sets for the TV show went bust before any of the 50 builders were paid.
A company called Helix 3D was employed to provide services on the show - and the company was paid for the work. However, the employees then supplied by Helix 3D were then left without pay after the company went bankrupt. The Times reported the Tom offered to pay the workers’ wages after they learned they would not be paid in time for Christmas for the work they completed over the summer. A source told the publication: "He offered to [pay], but the production and Paramount have sorted the payment.” And it was also reported that bosses at Paramount were "outraged" over the fact the workers had not been paid. The Mirror has contacted representatives of Tom, Paramount and Helix 3D for comment.
Tom has been praised for his generosity in the past - with fellow actor Emmet Kirwan praising the Venom star for rushing to his aide on the set of a the 2009 mini series, The Take. Speaking on Ireland's The Six O'Clock Show in 2021: "Aw yeah, he was a lovely guy. He was really, really nice... brilliant talent! He's a fiercely intelligent fella.".
