Traitors fans have been convinced since the beginning of the series that two players have been hiding that they're secretly related. Lisa Coupland, 62, formed a close bond with co-star Alex Oleksy, 29, whilst filming the third series of the BBC show in Scotland. Some viewers however took their connection as evidence that the pair, who were Faithfuls, may be related.
Fans, as well as Lisa and Alex themselves, have suggested that there is a physical resemblance between them. The theory was fuelled by their connection in Ardross Castle, with Lisa expressing her love for Alex in a scene that aired last week. She was later seen crying after his banishment.
The new series had already featured Armani Gouveia and Maia Gouveia, who were upfront about being siblings. There have been secret connections between players in past series though, like in the second series when Diane Carson revealed to viewers that Ross Carson was actually her son.
Lisa has addressed the speculation about herself and Alex following her 'murder' on last Friday's episode. Speaking to the Mirror, she confirmed that she's not related to him or anyone else on the show. She teased: "I can confirm that I'm not knowingly related to anyone in the castle.".
Discussing the reaction on social media, where the theory about them circulated, Lisa shared: "I thought it was brilliant. I mean, I couldn't wish for a nicer son could I, really? And it's uncanny the resemblance. Even I look at him and think 'did I give birth in Scotland somewhere and not realise it?'".
