You'll need to be a Pokemon master to solve this brainteaser. Pokemon has been around for almost 30 years, and it's been a force to be reckoned with ever since. Whether you grew up playing the early games, collecting the cards, or watching the TV series, or you have children who have fallen in love with later iterations of the games, there are not many of us who have never heard of the colossal franchise.
But you'll need more than common knowledge of Pikachu and the other adorable creatures if you want to solve this fiendishly difficult puzzle. Specifically, you'll need to be clued up on the original 151 pocket monsters and have a sharp eye that can spot hidden details in seconds. Take a look at the TikTok video above, which was posted by the Pokemon Search Games account. You'll see a screen filled with pictures of Pokemon that are wiggling slightly from left to right. All you have to do is locate three specific Pokemon - but you'll need to use your brain to work out which creatures you need.
In the video's caption, it's revealed that you need to find "the three non-starter Pokemon". Starter Pokemon refers to the three creatures you get to choose from when you first boot up a new game, and they vary depending on the generation of the game you're playing. In this particular video, the three different Pokemon that fill most of the screen - Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander - are the three starter Pokemon in generation one.
So, what the puzzle is really asking you to do is to hunt for three Pokemon that are not any of those three. This means that not only do you need expert eyesight to spot the odd ones out, but you also need to know that they're not starter Pokemon. If you're struggling to find the answers, we'll give you a hint - but it'll only help if you know your Pokemon. You're looking for a Mew, a Machop, and a Cubone. Give the puzzle another go with this information, and keep scrolling to find the answers.
The hidden Pokemon are tucked away behind the starters that fill the screen, so you need to watch carefully as they move to spot the non-starters lurking in the gaps. Mew, a pale pink Pokemon with a long tail, can be found toward the top left of the video, just below the yellow pathway in the background. Once you've found Mew, follow it directly across to the right to find Cubone, an adorable brown Pokemon with an animal skull on its head. Finally, Machop is your third Pokemon, and the blue-toned fighting type can be found below the Mew, toward the middle of the video.
Commenters on the video admitted they found the puzzle incredibly difficult - even with their expert Pokemon knowledge. One person said: "Oh my days, hardest one yet! Took me five minutes, I checked the comments and still couldn't find them! Got them eventually though.". Another added: "I only found two, so I've decided to believe that the third one is a ditto that has transformed itself into one of the starters." And a third person who was struggling asked: "Am I being gaslit?".
