Two EastEnders residents expose killer Reiss’ lies to stunned Sonia

Two Walford residents cast doubt on killer Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) in EastEnders this week, as the net begins to close in on him following Sonia Fowler’s (Natalie Cassidy) release. A jury found Sonia not guilty of murdering Reiss’ wife Debbie after last week’s dramatic trial scenes.
Fans saw how her sister Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer), who Reiss had been holding hostage since November, recorded herself confessing to killing Debbie in a bid to secure Sonia’s freedom. Next week, Reiss is delighted to finally have fiancée Sonia home, but he is still hiding the fact he was the one who smothered his comatose wife to death in her care home bed last year.

A fretful Reiss is determined to close down Sonia’s investigations and uses their unborn baby to make her drop it. But her uncle Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) is suspicious and his words leave Sonia with Sonia reason to believe Reiss isn’t being honest with her.
This is a sentiment echoed by Sonia’s cousin Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) later in the week, after Sonia confronts Reiss about what Jack has told her. Reiss manipulates her with a clever explanation and makes her feel bad for questioning him. When Lauren later comes round to cast doubt on his honesty, Sonia defends her fiancé – will she and Jack be able to get through to her?.
