UK weather maps reveal where Brits to see snow this weekend as Met Office issues warning

New weather maps show Brits where in the country they can expect a flurry of the white stuff as the Met Office issues warnings. The WXCharts weather maps, which use Met Desk data, reveal a chilly blast will dump snow in the Scottish Highlands on Sunday. It said between 15cm and 20cm of snow was expected to fall in the region.
Lesser spells of snowfall were also forecast to fall in the Scottish borders, parts of Cumbria and some areas in Derbyshire. While Brits might be delighted to hear about news of snowfall, WXCharts said between 1cm and 5cm is expected to sprinkle itself in the regions.
But Brits have also been urged to keep alert with yellow wind warnings being issued for vast swathes of the country today and on Sunday. According to the Met Office, the warning covered northern Wales, the North West, parts of Yorkshire, Northumbria, Cumbria, the entirety of Scotland and most of Northern Ireland.
Moving into Sunday, the warning continues to blight the same areas as on Saturday but also spread to engulf all of Northern Ireland, all of Wales and event the entirety of the South West. The warnings said people should expect delays to their journeys with some bus and train services being affected or taking longer to complete.
Met Office forecasters warned Brits there was a "very windy weekend" ahead with rain and blustery showers being expected. It continued for Saturday: "Windy, with severe gales in the north. Rain moving south-eastwards across all parts Saturday morning, lingering across southern England into the afternoon. Elsewhere turning sunnier, though colder, with blustery showers.
