Cyriel Dessers is ready to seek discussions with Philippe Clement over his Rangers future. The emergence of Hamza Igamane has seen the Nigerian international lose his place in the starting XI. And, after coming off the bench to claim his 13th goal of the season in a 3-0 win over Aberdeen, 30-year-old Dessers has gone public with his desire to play every week.

Speaking to Dutch publication VI, the former Feyenoord striker said: ‘I’m at a great club, but I’m 30 years old and want to play every week. ‘Preferably at Rangers. If there are different feelings about that internally, then we need to talk. Cyriel Dessers scores late on against Aberdeen after being brought off the bench.

Dessers has recently lost his place in the starting XI to young striker Hamza Igamane. Now Dessers wants to have talks over his future with Rangers manager Philippe Clement. ‘Last month, I lost my starting spot. The boy who is playing now (Igamane) is also a good striker, he’s scoring goals. I try to support him and help him because I want the team to win. But it is difficult.

‘I don’t know what my outlook is now. I can imagine that Rangers might want to earn something from me now. But January is a difficult window. Clubs that are doing well probably also have a striker who is performing well. And few clubs that need goals will immediately have the millions ready. We’ll just have to wait and see.’.
