Ridley Scott, who directed the original Alien and the series entries Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, is producer alongside Michael Pruss and Walter Hill.
The gruesome seventh installment topped the box office after its theatrical release in August, collecting $41.5 million, marking the second-highest start in the Alien franchise.
The synopsis reads: "While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young colonisers come face-to-face with the most relentless and deadly life form in the universe."
The film marks the start of a brand-new story unlike any other Alien movie that came before it.
