Why isn't Chelsea vs Morecambe on TV? How to watch FA Cup tie

The magic of the FA Cup is back in full swing this weekend, with Chelsea playing host to League Two side Morecambe FC today (January 11) – but it won't be on television in the UK. Chelsea have been on a lacklustre run of form at the moment, losing to Fulham and Ipswich Town before most recently drawing 1-1 with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park last weekend. They will be hoping to put things right with a third-round win against Morecambe, but the beauty of the FA Cup is that there always seem to be a few upsets in store.
On the other hand, Morecambe won their most recent league game against Tranmere, but with five defeats in their last six games, the struggling side are languishing at the bottom of the table in 23rd. Travelling to Stamford Bridge for the FA Cup will be an exciting moment for the players, as they hope to return to the next round of the cup with a win over the Premier League side.
The FA Cup has plenty of exciting ties in store this weekend, with 11 matches scheduled to air across the BBC and ITV, while some have already taken place – but Chelsea's tie is not one of them. Here, Mirror Football brings you everything you need to know about this exciting cup tie, which will not be shown live on UK TV.
The match was not selected by the BBC or ITV to be shown live on television as part of the broadcasters' rights to show the FA Cup ties. BBC opted to show Manchester City vs Salford City and Leeds United up against Harrogate live from 5:45pm. Meanwhile, ITV will show Liverpool against Accrington Stanley, live from 12:15pm, with more fixtures to be shown on both channels on Sunday and Monday. As Chelsea vs Morecambe is also a Saturday 3pm kick-off, it cannot be shown on UK TV due to the blackout rule.
