Beloved presenter Zoe Ball is saying goodbye to fans of her Radio 2 show today. The BBC broadcaster, 53, shocked listeners when she announced the sad news that she would be leaving her duties as host of the Breakfast Show last month. Zoe, who has been part of the programme for the last six years, will be replaced by her close friend and colleague, Scott Mills, in January 2025.

Zoe got emotional this morning as she read out messages from fans and huge A-list stars wishing her well as she hosted her final show. Kickstarting her programme, the DJ revealed she had already been blubbing as the whole team got back together for her farewell. She said: "We've had some tears already.".

Her final show comes days after Zoe was seen getting teary as she enjoyed a farewell lunch with her BBC radio colleagues at a swanky London restaurant. The mum-of-two was joined by the likes of Richie Anderson and Tina Daheley and was treated to a special farewell gift as she bundled out of the eatery clutching an enormous yellow Selfridges bag.

Zoe, who succeeded Chris Evans in 2019, revealed in her announcement in November that she will remain with the BBC working with Radio 2, but won't be presenting at the crack of dawn. She said it was her time to "step away from the very early mornings" and added: "I won't miss the 4am alarm call, if I'm completely honest.".

Updating listeners on her next steps, she said that she wasn't "going to be a stranger" and is staying with her "Radio 2 crew", though didn't share any more details. Zoe said: "While I'm stepping away from the Breakfast Show, I'm not disappearing entirely - I'll still be part of the Radio 2 family, with more news in the New Year.".
