Una Healy has claimed she has suffered with ‘nightmares’ and ‘aftershocks’ since filming Celebrity Bear Hunt. The 43-year-old pop star, who rose to fame in The Saturdays, has opened up on the PTSD she’s dealt with in the months after working on the grueling new Netflix show hailed ‘I’m A Celebrity on steroids’. In the latest Bear Grylls adventure series, 12 famous faces were dropped into the Costa Rican jungle and left to battle the elements and extreme conditions.

Una has heaped praise on the aftercare provided by bosses, and Bear gave the celebrities tips on readjusting to everyday life. ‘He actually prepared us for the outside world afterwards, to get back to reality. Which I did experience a mild form of PTSD,’ she told The Sun. ‘And he said that can happen.’. Despite struggling after the show, Una felt ‘prepared’ for the comedown after such an intense experience.

‘It’s very natural because you’re coming back into your natural environment. But you’ve adapted to this whole new way of life,’ she pointed out. ‘So he prepared me for that and I had it. I had a few aftershocks and nightmares and stuff.’. There were also counsellors and psychiatrists on hand during the entire process, which helped if the stars were every feeling ‘overwhelmed or sick or down or homesick’.

‘He was a really good one, where he’d bring you back up again, and you’d just be like, “Yeah, come on, I can do this,”‘ she recalled. They’re hunted down by adventurer Bear, with terrifying moments like swinging face first into a cliff while abseiling, almost drowning and even being pursued by a crocodile.

In our review, Metro said it was ‘surprisingly one of the best new reality TV series in years’. ‘Celebrity Bear Hunt does feel immediately like the most enthralling new reality television series in a very long time though,’ the review noted. ‘It’s a lovable cast with a game that provides enough risk and tension to drive the hunger for more after each episode.’. I bought a house with my partner — but when we broke up, he refused to sell.

What I Own: I quit London at 48 and bought my first home in Sussex for £325,000. This £575,000 house has a ‘genius’ feature in the most unexpected place. I finally got on the property ladder and it was the biggest mistake of my life. Londoners are flocking to this ‘bustling’ neighbourhood 10 miles from the centre.
