One EastEnders cast member has sparked new death fears with a rather cryptic comment about her confirmed exit from the BBC soap. Natalie Cassidy has spoken out over her looming exit as Sonia Fowler, after more than 30 years in the role. Sonia has been at the centre of some key storylines over the years, and now this week is no different as the soap celebrates 40 years on air.
With an explosion and dramatic scenes, pregnant Sonia faces a fight for survival as she goes into labour amid the fire stunt. With her killer fiancé Reiss Colwell also back on the scene amid the chaos, it could be anyone who perishes in the flames. Now, something Sonia actress Natalie has revealed about her leaving the role has sparked confusion and fear. We know Sonia is leaving soon and that it could be linked to the 40th anniversary.
Previous comments suggested Natalie chose to leave, and that the exit had not yet been filmed. However something she's now revealed in a clip shared online has left fans wondering if the character has been killed off. With a shock death said to be looming this week, fans now think it could be Sonia. Natalie commented "it is what it is" and remained very downbeat about her looming departure.
In a clip from The One Show, presenter Gaby Roslin asked her about her upcoming exit but Natalie didn't give away when it would air. She replied: "I'm gonna miss everybody and I love it, I love it here but it is what it is. But yeah... see what happens.".
Bianca Jackson actress Patsy Palmer, who plays Sonia's onscreen sister, was shown comforting her as she spoke and told her pal she "loved her". Viewers watching the clip online were left concerned, believing it might be an indication that Sonia is the shock death.
Taking to the comment section under the video, one fan posted: "I think she might die." Another said: "Natalie's answer has me worried that this is the end for Sonia," as a third fan posted: "Sonia dies but baby survives.". Others feared her comment meant she was axed with one saying: "Wait what?! Did they let Nat go or is she leaving on her own? 'It is what it is' does not sound super excited about starting a new chapter in your life. Either way, I hope she will be back one day." Another added: "Sonia sounds like she doesn’t want to go. I had thought leaving was her choice. Maybe I was wrong?".
