The Chase host Bradley Walsh didn't pull any punches in warning contestant Qahir after a decision he made - and fans were not impressed. Wednesday's (February 19) edition of 'The Chase' saw Bradley, age 64, returning to our TV screens alongside four hopefuls eyeing up a hefty cash prize.
The team taking on today's quiz battle featured Liam from Derbyshire, Katy from the Isle of Wight, Qahir from Bromley, and Anne from Manchester, as they went up against chaser Darragh Ennis, aka 'The Menace', with their eyes set on bagging thousands. Sailing through - that's what the first three contenders did as each made it back for the final chase. Chaser Darragh was feeling the heat, admitting: "I think this team is starting to stack up a little too much so I need to knock the other two out.".
He added with concern: "A 6 and a 5 is halfway to a super team so if the other two players pick up the same in the cash builder then I could really be in a lot of trouble.". Nevertheless, all eyes were on contestant Qahir when he left viewers gobsmacked by choosing to go for the low offer of -£1,000 in his bid to reach the final, reports Bristol Live.
Bradley didn't hesitate, cautioning him: "You've gone for minus one. It would be a waste of my time if you don't go through now, I have to be honest.". Viewers at home followed suit, slamming the decision. One viewer took to X, formerly known as Twitter, blasting: "#thechase lowest offer w*****, channel changed!" (sic).
One viewer slammed: "Now the prick tells someone else not to take the low offer, properly bellend him. #thechase. (sic). Another tweet read in jest: "Would love to see someone have a real go at the person that takes the low offer. Coward #TheChase." (sic).
A different fan vehemently expressed their anger: "No! ! ! ! What is this! Minus £1,000 Offer taken! I have absolutely had enough! How on earth is this even possible!" (sic). Continuing their rant, they added: "Why are the producers always casting useless players who opt for the stupid low offer! This has gone completely out of hand and must end now! #TheChase." (sic).
