Mikel Arteta has refused to be drawn on Arsenal’s link with a move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford. The 27-year-old sparked speculation over his future in an interview with Henry Winter earlier this week by admitting that he is keen to leave United for a ‘new challenge’.

‘When I leave it’s going to be, “no hard feelings”. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person,’ Rashford said. ‘If I know that a situation is already bad I’m not going to make it worse. I’ve seen how other players have left in the past and I don’t want to be that person.
‘When I leave I’ll make a statement and it will be from me.’. Arsenal have been placed as third favourites by bookmakers behind Paris Saint-Germain and the Saudi Pro League to sign Rashford in the January transfer window. However, Arteta refused to fuel speculation over a potential move to Arsenal during his press conference on Friday.
When asked if he believes he could reignite Rashford’s career at Arsenal, Arteta replied: ‘No, and you know that I’m not going to talk about players from other clubs.’. Rashford was left out of United’s matchday squad for their 4-3 defeat to Tottenham in the Carabao Cup on Thursday evening, however, Ruben Amorim says the forward is available for his side’s Premier League clash at home to Bournemouth on Sunday.
