Alan Carr's ex-husband Paul Drayton has shared the devastating news his brother has died at the age of 28. The party planner and actor, 53, posted a photo with his late sibling James and issued an emotional tribute. He revealed his "amazing" brother died just before Christmas. In the post, Paul said: "Goodbye my gentle soul! I'm sorry I didn't tell you I loved you more. You will be sorely missed by all your family.

"We will never forget what an amazing brother/ son/ grandson and father you were." Paul added a broken heart emoji alongside: "James Drayton. 2/4/1996 - 18/ 12/ 2024." He also added Michael Jackson's song Gone Too Soon alongside the tribute. The Chatty Man star married Paul in 2018 but the couple split in 2022.

After a 13 year relationship, the couple called time on their romance. It is no secret that Paul has battled with alcohol and was nearly sent to jail after reversing into a police car with a high alcohol test reading, in 2022. Alan claimed Paul's abuse of alcohol was the "final straw" in an already strained relationship.

Paul, who is now sober, is planning to release a tell-all book which Alan 'knows will feature the good, the bad, and the ugly' of their relationship. "Alan knows that Paul is writing a book and obviously their relationship – the good, the bad and the ugly – will form a large part of the story," a source told the Mail.

"They were together for 13 years and had some fabulous times together as well as the well-documented problems. Paul is a very honest man and will give readers a warts and all picture of his life and won’t gloss over difficult subjects." Paul, who previously admitted to punching himself in the eye following a drunken binge, recently marked three years since he was arrested for drink-driving by sharing a clip of the moment he was taken away by police.
