Antiques specialist Theo Burrell has shared an update after announcing recently that she would be undergoing more treatment following the "regrowth" of a tumour in her brain. Theo, 38 - who's best known for her role on the BBC show Antiques Roadshow - previously shared that she had been diagnosed with a grade four glioblastoma in 2022. She said that her symptoms had included pressurised headaches.
She once revealed that she had surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy "to keep the cancer under control" following the diagnosis. Theo however shared concern in October this year that the brain tumour had "started regrowing". Theo said she would have another scan over the prospect and then announced on December 18 that the "regrowth" had been confirmed. She added: "I'll be starting back on chemo (Temozolomide) in the next couple of weeks.".
More recently, an update was shared by Theo on Instagram this week. She posted a photo of a coastal landscape and revealed to her followers in the accompanying caption that she was "restarting treatment" ahead of New Year's Eve. Looking ahead, she wrote in the recent post: "It's been a really nice few days over the festive period, but today is the big day - restarting treatment. This afternoon I'm off to the Western General in Edinburgh to collect my Temozolomide tablets, and I begin the first of potentially 12 rounds.".
Theo continued in the caption: "I know that (unfortunately) I'm in good company, with many, many patients pushing through their treatment plans as I write this. It sucks. It's relentless, it makes you feel awful, and you can't do a whole bunch of things because you're immunosuppressed - but there is some comfort in being in it together.".
