Baba Vanga’s 2024 predictions that came true and those that haven’t... yet

Blind mystic Baba Vanga – revered as the ‘Nostradamus of the Balkans’ for her apparent foretelling of global events – made several seemingly accurate predictions for the year 2024. The Bulgarian clairvoyant, born Vangeliya Pandeva Gushterova in 1911, made a name for herself across Europe for predicting the Chernobyl disaster and the death of Princess Diana.
She claimed to have been able to see into the future after losing her sight aged just 12 when a freak storm hit her village in the mountainous area of Rupite, 100 miles from the capital city of Sofia. Baba made a number of alarming predictions for these past 12 months, from worldwide economic turmoil to the use of biological weapons during war.
So, before we turn our attention to what’s in store (maybe) for us all in 2025, let’s have a look back at which premonitions have come true and which have not… yet. Baba foretold a worldwide economic crisis that would drive up tensions. Here in the UK, the economy may have grown slightly, but millions have struggled to live affordably with sky-high energy bills and surging grocery prices.
While 2024 may have seen 141 new billionaires join the ranks of the super-rich, a merciless cost of living crisis and lingering post-Covid price rises punished people across the world. Few can argue with this one. With a matter of days left, 2024 is forecast to be the hottest on record.
