Escape to the Country's Nicki Chapman had to play the realist with house-hunters during the episode aired on Thursday (December 19), delivering a gentle warning as they branded a picturesque property their "dream forever home". In this instalment of the BBC favourite, Nicki Chapman teamed up with Chris and Stewart. The couple was ready to swap the bustle of London life for over two decades for the tranquillity of rural living in the Scottish Lothians, wanting to be closer to family.
With £450,000 to hand, willing to push to £475,000 for perfection, they were in pursuit of a characterful four-bedroom haven, complete with a sizeable, secure garden and convenient transport links to Edinburgh. Nicki Chapman did not disappoint, showcasing an array of potential homes, but as the week wrapped up, it was the mystery house that truly captured their hearts. Nicki, however, reminded them that such gems don't linger on the market.
Stewart quickly showed enthusiasm, remarking: "Now you're talking.", reports Wales Online. To which Nicki responded gleefully: "I wish I could just take a snapshot of your faces as you came up the drive there! Isn't it incredible? ". Chris was mesmerized by the opulent hallway, saying: "This is exactly what we want. It's got character, it's got detail. This is beautiful, I love it.".
Confessing that the abode ticked all their must-have boxes, Chris gushed: "I love it, it's perfect for us. This is like our forever home, I feel it. I feel really comfortable here.". Nicki shocked them as he divulged that the house was listed for offers above £325,000, prompting the couple to immediately express their keen interest.
