Choc merger: Cadbury-owner Mondelez is said to be eyeing rival chocolate maker Hershey’s which makes peanut butter infused chocolate Reese’s.
If Mondelez’s move succeeds, it would create one of the world’s largest confectioners and bring favourites such as Dairy Milk and Reese’s Pieces together.
Mondelez also tried buying The Hershey Company in 2016, but its £18billion bid failed.
Hershey’s shares soared more than 13 per cent in New York to give it value of £30billion.
