Call the Midwife is back on BBC One and once again Dr Turner (played by Stephen McGann) is missing his son Timothy (Max Macmillan). Throughout season 14 he has spoken warmly about Timothy, who is following in his father's footsteps. Due to his absence in the new series, fans are starting to worry whether Timothy has left Call the Midwife for good. He was last seen in the 2023 Christmas special when he returned to the family home for a festive visit.

However, he has not been seen since and viewers took to social media to express their concern. One asked: "Not to worry anyone but where’s Timothy Turner? #callthemidwife.". A second posted: "Where is Timothy Turner? I can’t even remember if he disappeared somewhere in the previous series or if something happened to him." A third wrote: "What's happened to Timothy Turner? He wasn't in the Xmas special and not in the new series so far.".

Here is all you need to know about what has happened to Timothy and whether he has left the show for good. Viewers will be pleased to hear Timothy Turner has not left Call the Midwife. It was previously explained in the Christmas special that Timothy has been working in Edinburgh as a junior doctor this year. With this in mind, he will not be in the rest of season 14, but he has not left the show for good.

While he is away, Dr Turner has taken a new protégé under his wing, in the form of Miss Higgins' (Georgie Glen) grandson Harry Chopra (Eisa Latif). Harry is training to be a dentist, but since working closely with Dr Turner he has developed an interest in his line of work. Max Macmillan has been sharing his latest ventures on Instagram, including his involvement with the band Anyone's Ghost. The musician has had a number of gigs lined up since his Call the Midwife character went off to train as a doctor.
