BBC One's beloved series Call the Midwife is back, and viewers were thrilled to catch a glimpse of a fresh face in last week's teaser. The upcoming episode will introduce Sister Catherine to the Nonnatus House family as she embarks on her midwifery training.
Under the watchful eye of Nurse Crane (played by Linda Bassett), Sister Catherine is immediately thrust into a challenging case. In another storyline, Dr Turner (Stephen McGann) is taken aback when a mother-of-seven requests an abortion. He also faces disappointment with the lacklustre response to the measles vaccination clinic. All main cast members are set to return, except for Cyril Robinson (Zephryn Taitte), who has departed for Jamaica to visit Lucille (Leonie Elliott).
Nancy Corrigan (Meghan Cusack) is also temporarily absent from Nonnatus House after accepting a new job opportunity. Here's everything you need to know about the stars gracing episode four. Molly Vevers steps into the shoes of the new nun and midwife. She's a seasoned TV and theatre actress, best known for her portrayal of Heather Shaw in The Rig.
Although she currently resides in South East London, she was born in Cardiff and still has family there. Her other acting credits include roles in The Long Shadow, The Spanish Princess, and Doctors. Euan Macnaughton, a Scottish actor, portrays Mr Wilkins. However, acting wasn't always his chosen career path.
