Chelsea would prefer to sell Renato Veiga if he is to leave the club this month. The 21-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge in a £12million deal in the summer from Basel. Veiga has found most of his minutes come in cup competitions this season and completed the full match against Morecambe this past weekend but has struggled to break into Enzo Maresca's Premier League side.
Despite that, the verstalie star has drawn interest from the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Napoli. The former are said to have even agreed terms with Veiga over a move this month and would like to take the Portuguese ace on loan. However, that may not suit Chelsea. The Telegraph report that the Blues would only be willing to facilitate the sale of the player who can play in defence or midfield.
The west London side value Veiga at more than £20m and would like to see a tidy profit on a player signed just months ago. An exit for Veiga, who is said to want to establish himself before next year's World Cup, would see Chelsea possibly return to the transfer market to find support for Marc Cucurella at left-back.
Veiga is not the only Blues summer signing linked to a move this month. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has also been linked with an exit after a scarcity of minutes. Head coach Enzo Maresca insisted Veiga was still seen as a Chelsea player despite links to the likes of Wolves. The Italian did not rule out his departure however, with a number of parties set to have their say.
