This is the chilling moment a burglar sneaks around someone's home in the dead of night before stealing a £20,000 haul of luxury watches and goods. Avon and Somerset Police have linked two burglaries at homes in Bath, Somerset, and released CCTV footage of one of the break-ins from inside one of the homes targeted. Cops believe the raids involved two offenders and both occurred on the evening of Tuesday 19 November in the Widcombe area of Bath in Somerset.

CCTV footage from a first floor landing shows one of them men quietly opening a bedroom door before spotting the camera above his head. The footage shows the man kneeling down to avoid being filmed, crouching below it. The footage then shows the man walking back before he disappears in shadows near the top of the stairs.

The properties were both accessed through ground or first floor windows. Items stolen included a gold coin with a loop at the top, as well as a diamond engagement ring and 12 watches, including the brands Rolex, Omega and Cartier. The man in the released footage is in his late teens, or early to mid-twenties, and wearing hooded clothing. Police say the stolen good were worth "more than five figures" and a gold coin with a loop at the top and a diamond engagement ring.

An Avon and Somerset Police statement reads: "We’re investigating linked burglaries at two properties in Bath and have issued CCTV footage showing a man we want to identify. The incidents, which we believe involved two offenders, happened on the evening of Tuesday 19 November in the Widcombe area of the city.
