The PDC World Darts Championship is now up and running and there have already been some stunning results. Reigning champion Luke Humphries safely secured his spot in the next round with an easy victory against Thibault Tricole. 2021 winner Gerwyn Price also got off to a perfect start with a straight-forward success against Keane Barry.

But James Wade has seen his tournament brought to a grinding halt already. The 41-year-old was soundly beaten by Jermaine Wattimena in his opening appearance. The opening two rounds of the competition are set to continue all the way up until Monday, with a host of darts’ best in action. And that will certainly be the case on Tuesday, with a number of tantalising clashes in prospect.

James Hurrell and Jim Long come together in one of the first matches of the day, with the afternoon session expected to begin around 12:30pm GMT. The winner of that game will progress to take on Dutch star Michael van Gerwen. Kevin Doets and Noa-Lynn van Leuven will then come together for the right to play Michael Smith in the next round. Ryan Joyce and Darius Labanauskas round off the first-round afternoon matches.

Grand Prix winner Mike De Decker will then take on Luke Woodhouse in the first second-round clash of the day. There’s also plenty going on in the second session of Tuesday, which will get started at 7pm GMT. Jeffrey de Graaf vs Rashad Sweeting gets things going ahead of Ricardo Pietreczko’s clash with Xiaochen Zong. Fallon Sherrock then makes her return to the Ally Pally as she takes on Ryan Meikle. The winner of that clash will face last year’s runner-up Luke Littler in the next round.
