In fact, a recent study published by the European Heart Journal (EHJ) reveals its beneficial effects. It also looks at how to consume it without harming our bodies. Dr Aurelio, a cardiologist, shared that “the time you drink your coffee could affect your heart.” He emphasises the importance of paying attention to studies and research rather than some social media recommendations that suggest counterproductive explanations.
Research study conducted by the EHJ aimed to identify patterns in consumption times among the US population and evaluate their relationship with mortality (encompassing all causes and specific ones). To achieve this, 40,725 adults participated in the US National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). They were asked about the foods and drinks they regularly consumed, considering whether they drank coffee, in what quantity, and at what time.
Research findings from the study indicate that individuals who limit their coffee intake to the morning enjoy a longer life expectancy and a reduced risk of heart attacks. Morning coffee consumption has also been linked to a 31% lower risk of death from cardiovascular diseases and a 17% reduction in the likelihood of premature death.
