Ruby Allen’s (Louisa Lytton) is further pushed out by love rival Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) in EastEnders next week, as Martin Fowler (James Bye) continues to be drawn to his ex. As fans know, Ruby is currently loved up with ex-husband Martin once again, but is feeling threatened by the obvious chemistry still there between him and his other ex-wife Stacey. This week, fans of the BBC soap saw how Martin turned to Stacey after Ruby’s reckless actions with Councillor Barker resulted in him losing his beloved market stall.
As Stacey set out to help him get the stall back, Ruby was stunned as a she witnessed a warm moment between them that almost resulted in a kiss. In scenes to air next week, Ruby is further upset when Martin wants to share an exciting life development with Stacey.
Quite what the big news is remains to be seen, however. But later in the week, Martin and Stacey are still in one another’s orbits, as they share a warm conversation reminiscing about family. Will they finally give into passion?. Former best friends Ruby and Stacey have a somewhat complicated history, part in thanks to their former marriages to Martin. Ruby also had Stacey locked up back in 2021 after falsely claiming she was behind an attack that caused her to miscarry her and Martin’s unborn baby.
Stacey’s mum Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) later got revenge on Ruby by setting her up as the owner of a cannabis farm, landing her with a spell behind bars. With the trio in a love triangle once again, actress Louisa Lytton, who plays Ruby, recently admitted that her character ‘knows deep down there’s a deep connection’ between Martin and Stacey. ‘She’s got a woman’s intuition!’ she said. ‘But she’s in denial because she’s here now in the Square and she’s started this new chapter with Martin and introduced [their son] Roman into a family unit with him, so Ruby has to go along with this, even if she does worry that he’s meant for Stacey.’.
