The soap actor, known for his portrayal of Ellis Chapman on the long-running soap, faced dismissal four years ago after a controversial altercation with Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas at the 2019 TV Choice Awards.

An ITV spokesperson also addressed the incident, stating: "Emmerdale suspended Asan N'Jie pending further investigation into an incident at a central London hotel."
Asan expressed remorse for his actions, saying in a statement: "My behaviour at the TV Choice Awards was completely unacceptable and very much out of character.
