Dancing On Ice 2025 has just eliminated a third celebrity from the competition. The ITV reality show is now well underway with Chelsee Healey and Ferne McCann already skating away, and the latest person to leave the rink was Sir Steve Redgrave. The Olympic rower received the lowest overall score after the judges’ points were combined with viewers’ votes meaning his journey has officially come to an end.

After it was announced their time on the series was over, Sir Steve, 62, and his partner Vicky Ogden joined hosts Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern to say their goodbyes. Sir Steve expressed gratitude for his time on the show before doing one final lap of the studio. ‘It’s been absolutely amazing and this young lady’s been incredible,’ he shared. Sir Stave then joked: ‘I haven’t enjoyed falling over.’.

They were not given an opportunity to fight for their position in a skate-off which has been standard format in previous years. Instead, they left immediately, but Holly has promised the feature will be reinstated next week. This is happy news for fans who’ve expressed how much they’ve missed it. In tonight’s show each celebrity was able to pick a song that had a special significance to them, with Dan, 34, receiving the highest score – 35 – for a skate to Blue Moon by Frank Sinatra dedicated to his beloved nan who always supports him. Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Oti Mabuse and Ashley Banjo were all in agreement that it was his best performance so far.

At the opposite end of the leaderboard was Sir Steve who got a much smaller score of 21.5 for an Olympic-themed dance to Bon Jovi’s It’s My Life. Sam Aston was the last person to find out that he was safe. It has been a difficult week for the Coronation Street actor who ‘fell very badly’ during rehearsals and had to have his shoulder clicked back into place. Due to Sir Steve being the lowest-scoring star, fans were happy with the decision.

‘Despite this week being his best week it was the correct time for him to leave the competition. Compared to everyone else in the competition progress was slower for Steve & Vicky and he was very tentative on the ice showing little technique. With that being said he still enjoyed himself and gave the show his best shot that’s what matters,’ wrote Ryan Glendenning. Nellie called it ‘the absolute right decision!’ and Mark Scales weighed in: ‘Sorry Steve. A true Olympian you are. But #DancingOnIce was chasing one gold too far.’.

Their departure came just hours after professional skater Vanessa Bauer announced that she’d be unable to continue in her partnership with Love Island star Chris Taylor. Taking to Instagram with an emotional video, Vanessa, 28, said she had become injured backstage last week and only realised the extent of the damage after an MRI scan. She called her exit ‘upsetting’ but rightly pointed out that health comes first.

The athlete, who has been a part of Dancing on Ice since the relaunch in 2018, has a completely torn ligament, grade three sprain and a major grade two sprain injury. ‘I don’t want this injury, which is already bad, to get even worse so I have to step away,’ she concluded. Chris posted a heartfelt message praising Vanessa for her commitment, and added: ‘Very very sad we don’t get to finish this together, you’ve got an annoying brother for life now.’.

Dan Edgar and Vanessa James – 35. Anton Ferdinand and Annette Dytrt – 34. Michaela Strachan and Mark Hanretty – 34. Mollie Pearce and Colin Grafton – 31. Charlie Brooks and Eric Radford – 31. Sam Aston and Molly Lanaghan – 29. Chris Taylor and Robin Johnstone – 28.5. Sir Steve Redgrave and Vicky Ogden – 21.5. Injuries have meant that two other stars have also pulled out of the 17th season of Dancing On Ice.

Comedian Josh Jones announced their exit on January 26 after performing just one couple’s skate with partner Tippy Packard. Explaining what happened on the live show, the 32-year-old said: ‘So we were skating, and I went over on my ankle (during rehearsals)… and I kind of twisted my ankle.’. Paralympian cyclist and swimmer Dame Sarah Storey, 47, didn’t get to perform at all as she fractured her ankle in December rehearsals.

Remaining in Dancing On Ice are The Traitors star Mollie Pearce, 22; Towie star Dan; footballer Anton Ferdinand, 46; and Springwatch presenter Michaela Strachan, 58. Also still hoping to win the series are Sam, 31, Chris, 34, and EastEnders star Charlie Brooks, 43. In the episode, judge Christopher, 66, became teary paying a tribute to skating stars who recently died in a tragic plane crash.
