Whether she’s walking down the street or catching a tube, Isabella Bliss has become accustomed to double takes and whispers from strangers. On the odd occasion she might even be asked to take a selfie or two. But while she isn’t a celebrity per se, she certainly looks like one. Having spent a decade working as a Marilyn Monroe tribute artist, the 38-year-old oozes the sophistication of old Hollywood glamour both on and off the stage - though it’s a career she entered somewhat by chance.

“I was performing in burlesque and when I was on stage people kept telling me that I looked like Marilyn when I did a particular smile or expression. I thought it would be a really good idea to perform as Marilyn as a surprise at my friend’s birthday,” she says.

“I got a wig, had a dress made and practiced the voice. I really got into the character acting of it. It went really well but it was so terrifying singing and doing that in front of a room full of my closest friends who know I don’t speak like an American. People filmed it and put it on the internet and then kept asking me to do it.”.

As a tribute artist and creator of the show One Night With Marilyn, Isabella, from Essex, produces shows, performs comedy and tells stories relating to Marilyn’s life. She also bears an uncanny resemblance to the Some Like It Hot actress thanks to her warm blonde locks.
