Geordie Shore legend Vicky Pattison, 37, has delved into the world of fake pornographic videos for a Channel 4 documentary named Vicky Pattison: My Deepfake Sex Tape. As part of the programme, she took the extreme measure of uploading a deepfake sex tape created by AI to get to the bottom of the situation, which has caused controversy.
She admittedly “wrestled with the decision” for a long time before accepting that the video “may live online forever”. Vicky told The Sun she made the video to “fully immerse herself in this world, and properly understand the depth of shock and violation victims of image-based abuse feel".
The reality television star added: "This is just the latest trend in the abuse of women and having met some of the inspirational women who have put their lives back together after being victims of sexually explicit deepfake abuse, I feel more strongly than ever that we need to stand with them and continue to put pressure on the greater powers within the Government to catch up with the speed at which this technology is advancing.”.
Speaking to ITV chat host Lorraine Kelly this morning, Vicky confirmed her decision had "ruffled some feathers", but explained her reasons for uploading the deepfake video as she addressed how involved she got with the programme. Vicky told Lorriane viewers: "I completely understand that this has been a divisive way to share information about deepfake AI and to spread awareness. I know that we've been loud and deliberate, and I know that it has ruffled some feathers.
