IT'S quite literally freezing outside. And many of us have resorted to whacking up the heating in a bid to stay warm at home. However, doing so ends up pushing energy bills up - which isn't ideal in the current cost of living crisis. So one woman has shared the clever hack she now swears by to retain heat in her house.

"I can't believe that I've only just found out about this central heating trick," Taylor said in a video on her TikTok page. "All I seem to be doing is turning the heating up at the moment!". She explained that she'd been searching online for hacks to help, and came across a post on money saving expert Martin Lewis' page, as he said that putting one thing behind the radiator can make a massive difference.

Taylor then stocked up on a pack of the Radi-Save foil sheets, which set her back just £14.99 for a five-metre roll. "You cut it to size and slide it down the back of your radiator," she explained in a video on her TikTok page. "Now the way that it works is that the heat from your radiator will now reflect against this and go back into the room rather than seeping out through the walls.

"So you're not paying to heat your garden!". Concluding, she called the hack an "absolutely genius, but simple, idea". "Now I can turn my heating back down again," she said. "Your radiators are losing heat to warm the garden," Taylor captioned the video. And people in the comments section were quick to agree her hack is a brilliant way to retain heat at home.
