Sir Grayson Perry was unmasked this weekend on the UK's most popular guessing game, The Masked Singer. He had been taking to the stage each week as the infamous Kingfisher. Fans of the ITV programme will know that Kingfisher had a birds eye view of the dramatic moment when singing sensation Macy Gray - who was disguised as Toad In The Hole - stormed off the programme after being voted out early on. It came to light after that the hitmaker had been stunned that she would be exiting the competition, having done so well during her time on the American version of the programme.

Discussing the moment that captured the entire nation, Grayson dished further insight to This Morning hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, who were desperate for the intel. Ben quizzed the English artist asking: "Were you watching the other singers and guessing as you were going along?". "I was trying," responded the ITV singing star as he hinted that he may have rumbled one of his co-star's, adding: "I mean Macy Gray has a very distinctive voice but I thought 'is she really going to do it?'".

"Because she's amazing," Grayson stated, before explaining: "But when they took the mask off..." He then pulled a face about the dramatic moment and began to chuckle to himself. "And she stormed off of course," prompted Ben as Grayson admitted: "She looked pretty cross, yeah.". Cat pointed out that Grayson had actually lasted longer than most of the professional singers in the competition, telling the contemporary artist: "You must be proud.".

"I am but I'm also under no illusion that it's a singing contest," hit back Grayson, as he went on to reveal his top tactic for winning the public vote. Grayson explained to the hosts that he had pre-planned to adopt the "cutest" costume presented to him by ITV producers, with his thought process being there are lots of children watching and voting. He'd seen past shows and understood that other celebrities had gone quite far in the process by simply impressing the younger generation with their costumes and stage presence.
