The Masked Singer UK fans are 'convinced' they've rumbled Kingfisher's identity . The hit ITV series returned earlier this month with a line-up of new celebrity contestants hiding behind elaborate costumes and masks. The new contestants include Bush, Dressed Crab, Bear, Kingfisher, Pegasus, Pufferfish, Snail, Spag Bol, Tattoo, Teeth, Toad In The Hole and Wolf. Meanwhile, Davina McCall, Maya Jama, Mo Gilligan and Jonathan Ross are on the panel as judges while Joel Dommett hosts.
So far, Toad In The Hole was unmasked as Macy Gray, Pegasus was unmasked as Prue Leith, Spag Bol was unmasked as Kate Garraway and just last week Tattoo was unmasked as Carol Decker. Just last week, Teeth was unveiled to be none other than Mel Giedroyc. And now fans are convinced they've rumbled Kingfisher's identity and it is a former Strictly Come Dancing star. Taking to Reddit, one person said: "I have a weird feeling king fisher is nick knowles. I’m definitely wrong because I’m never right with this show but if you look up his albums I feel like it’s similar but I think I’ve probably convinced myself to think it does.".
A different account put: "I thought the same thing on Saturday! I’m sure I’m not right but would be awesome if we were", another said: "It crossed my mind cause of the diy clues!" while a different viewer put: "My dad said this and he hardly watches the masked singer!". Nick Knowles is best known for hosting DIY SOS and just last year he competed on Strictly Come Dancing with professional dancer Luba Mushtuk.
On Saturday night's episode, Teeth was eliminated and they were unmasked as Mel Giedroyc after going against fellow contestant Bear. Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were quick to share their surprise, admitting they had no idea it was Mel, 56, who is best known for hosting The Great British Bake Off when it was on BBC. One person said: "Well that’s hilarious, I had absolutely no idea it was Mel #TheMaskedSinger", a different account put: "Love Mel she’s such a lovely funny lady fair play to her! #TheMaskedSinger", another wrote: "I am obsessed with Mel being Teeth #TheMaskedSinger" while a different viewer added: "mel giedroyc on the masked singer WHATTTT #TheMaskedSinger.".
