James Haskell has opened up about his feelings towards his ex-wife Chloe Madeley, admitting she made him a "better person" and that he still holds "love" for her. The former England Rugby player and the fitness influencer, who is the daughter of television icons Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, tied the knot in 2018 and welcomed their daughter Bodhi. Despite their split in October 2023, which followed the filming of a reality TV show about their family life, the pair remain committed to co-parenting.

Chloe has spoken candidly about the difficulty of their separation, describing the final year of their marriage as "one of the worst periods of my life". She believes they are better off apart, but James has expressed gratitude for the positive impact she had on him. On the Spooning with Mark Wogan podcast, James shared heartfelt thoughts: "Chloe is an amazing woman, extremely talented, she's made me a much better person, being with her, now we're separated. You separate essentially because you want to make sure your daughter has the best possible life.".

He continued to stress the importance of their daughter's well-being and their ability to work together as parents: "And I think when you have a child you have a responsibility and all of your other wishes go out of the window. The ability for us to co-parent and do stuff is so important, Chloe is more vocal because she wears her heart on her sleeve," reports Wales Online. James also reflected on the permanence of social media compared to traditional media: "I'm a bit more reserved because I think she's amazing. With social media nothing dies, when we were younger they say today's newspaper is tomorrow's s*** paper but not anymore.".

James has confessed that he holds a "love" for the mother of his child and anticipates that Bohdi will eventually inquire about their separation. His planned response?. "I still love Chloe, you know we love you, and this is what happened.". While the duo has kept mum on the specific cause of their breakup, rumours suggest James's hectic life as a DJ might have played a part. Gossip mills started churning post sightings of James mingling with other women at parties.

In an episode titled 'Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair', tensions flared when Chloe confronted James about his social media posts during a stint in Ibiza which featured snaps of other ladies' backsides. An unimpressed Chloe expressed her discontent, stressing that it was disrespectful especially "when everyone knows I'm your wife'.". Chloe also divulged her thoughts that James "thrives in chaos". She reflected on the couple's time together, deducing that both were "unhappy".
