Laura Anderson has revealed she has had to turn down work opportunities due to being a single mum. The former Love Island star, 35, hit out at ex partner Gary Lucy as she claimed "co-parenting and financial support didn't exist" for her in 2024. The pair share daughter Bonnie, 15 months, but split while Laura was pregnant. Despite briefly getting back together, they split again shortly after.
Now, Laura has opened up on her experience as a single mum, saying it hadn't been easy. She claimed to have been "struggling everyday" financially. In a social media upload, she wrote: " 'Not your usual New Year post but this is all I had time to collate. Instead of sharing pictures to tell a story, I'll just tell you in words. 2024 wasn't easy. I became a single parent which I never thought would be my life. Bonnie and I ran off to Dubai which I always do when I'm sad.
"I had an epiphany and made a conscious decision not to be a victim because i knew I had to create an incredible life for my incredible daughter. I got my dream job as a Radio Presenter, topped listener figures, featured on a billboard, a tram and did my first outdoor broadcast at the 02. ".
She continued: "My mum and I went on holiday for the first time in years, 3 generations of fun, it was really special. Bonnie started eating food, began walking and we celebrated her first birthday in style. I then fell in love with a handsome chap named Clark that I swear I somehow manifested. If that was in pictures it'd look pretty good but I missed out on many work opportunities, more importantly special moments with my daughter and co-parenting/financial support didn't exist.".
