The Smile singer has been sober for five years now and has been very public about her past issues with drugs and alcohol. Allen went on to say, ‘I think I’m just a completely different person. When I was drinking and taking drugs, I could be quite mean.’.

‘I spent the best part of my twenties being publicly humiliated and vilified the whole time and sort of having to absorb all of that. And I think when I drank and when I took drugs, it was like, “Now it’s your turn.” I’m going to turn it around on everyone else.’.
Lily has previously spoken out on how drug and alcohol abuse was always ‘on the cards’ as her family has a history of struggling with self-medicating. Lily married David in 2020, and they raised a blended family together, as she has two daughters, Marnie, 12, and Ethel, 11, with her ex-husband Sam Cooper.
