Linda Nolan’s final farewell will be a send off befitting the showbiz legend, her family have promised. The fun-loving star wanted to go out like she lived - big, bold and uninhibited - with one final round of applause from her fans. So her siblings have now invited wellwishers to congregate outside the church to wave her off after her funeral this Saturday - in what will be Linda’s final public appearance.
A spokesman for the family said: “The Nolan family invites everyone to join them in celebrating the extraordinary life of Linda Nolan. Linda was a beacon of light, strength and unwavering love who inspired everyone she met, in addition to millions around the world.
“Her absence leaves an ache in our hearts, but her legacy will live on through the joy, hope and kindness she shared so freely. Everyone who knew Linda, or whose lives she touched, is welcome to come and pay their respects as we remember her remarkable life.
“The family welcome all public and fans who can gather outside the church, where there will be designated spots.”. The Daily Mirror columnist tragically passed away from double pneumonia on January 15 - just a month before her 66th birthday, and 20 years after first being diagnosed with cancer.
She had previously told the Mirror how she wanted a “pink, sparkly coffin” - a wish the family have granted, with sister Coleen, 59, telling us on Saturday: “The one thing my sister loved was bling – her trainers had bling on them, her handbags, her walking stick [..] so it feels right.”.
