Marcus Rashford will be finished in English football if he opts to kickstart his career overseas. That's according to former England defender Glen Johnson, who harbours concerns that the Manchester United star's reputation would take a major hit if he were to quit the Premier League in January.

Rashford, 27, is likely to leave Old Trafford after admitting he wants a new challenge last month. The forward finds himself on the fringes of Ruben Amorim's plans, meaning United will not object to him moving on in the January transfer window. His salary could be a sticking point, though, with few clubs able to afford his reported £325,000-a-week wages. Suitors in Italy - including AC Milan - and Saudi Arabia have emerged, though Rashford is believed to have already snubbed three lucrative offers from the Saudi Pro League.

A move to Italy could be on the cards with AC Milan holding talks over a six-month loan, but Johnson told BetVictor: "From the outside, it doesn't look as though Marcus Rashford has a future at the club.

"He's still a very good player that can offer an awful lot. I don't know what the internal arguments are, but if it's not down to his character and personality, then I think he'll get a lot of offers because of his ability. "However, if he's not training with the group because of his character or behaviour, then all of a sudden the list of clubs who will be willing to take him gets a lot smaller.
