The gory vampire flick is set in 1930s Jim Crow-era South with a heavily under-the-wraps plot that only teases the bare minimum – including the Black Panther star’s dual role in the original film, which was shot in New Orleans. The official synopsis reads: ‘Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.’.

Taking to Instagram to share the official movie poster, the 37-year-old actor wrote: ‘Dance with the devil…and he’ll follow you home.’. The three-minute trailer opens up with an eerie narration as a suited-up Michael B Jordan arrives in town playing twins, with a gun in hand.

‘There are legends of people with the gift of making music so true, it can conjure spirits from the past and the future. ‘This gift can bring fame and fortune. But it also can pierce the veil between life and death,’ Annie narrates. Soon a supernatural threat takes over the town – as the survivors grow ever more desperate to escape the bloodthirsty clutches of the vampires (including one played by Hailee Steinfeld).
