Dyfed Powys Police said the body was found at Claerwen Reservoir by a passerby on Friday October 18 last year - but was still yet to be identified.
Pictured here is the Claerwen Reservoir WALES NEWS SERVICE] DI Ponting added: “We have carried out numerous inquiries, including checking missing people records with other forces and conducting forensic inquiries both locally and wider in conjunction with law enforcement partners.
Police said the body may have been in the water for up to three months before it was pulled from the reservoir in the Elan Valley in mid-Wales.
Detectives appealed for anyone who may have found clothes of belongings near the reservoir which could help in tracing him.
