Chocolate fans have been left devastated after Nestle confirmed that one of their favorite Christmas treats has been discontinued. The chocolate giant confirmed on X - formerly Twitter - recently that its beloved After Eight Straw are no longer being made. The revelation came after fans took to the social media platform to ask where the snack had gone.

The fan of the treat contacted Nestle, saying: "Nestle, I've been touring our local supermarkets for After Eight Straws, and I can't find them… Are they discontinued?" In response to the query Nestle shared that the straw variety had indeed been discontinued by saying: "Unfortunately, After Eight Straws have already been discontinued.".

After Eight Staws consists of dark chocolate straws with a smooth peppermint filling and was first introduced to the market in 2010. The global firm explains in a statement that it creates a range of confectionary goods for the Christmas season. The spokesperson added: "This year, After Eight Straws will not be available, but we will have our range of After Eight confectionery, including classic After Eight, After Eight Winter Fondant bags and the After Eight Mint Collection, which wraps up five delicious peppermint chocolate, available for consumers to enjoy over the festive period.".

After Eights is another staple chocolate for Christmas for Brits, and according to some, the straw variety was "the best". Another person described them as "elite" on social media, while a third added: "After Eight straws are up in the clouds." Before they were discontinued, shoppers could purchase the 110g tubs for £2 at major UK supermarkets. In some good news, shoppers can still get their hands on the traditional After Eight chocolate squares at most retailers for around £2,50.
