PARENTS are legging it as a discontinued nappy rash cream has reappeared on shelves. Not only has the Metanium Nappy Rash Ointment, which has been hailed as a ‘miracle’ and ‘magical’ by parents, been spotted in a supermarket, but it’s been slashed too.
It’s now less than £2 in Morrisons - yes you heard that correctly - so you’ll need to move fast if you want to nab it. In November last year, mums were left devastated when they discovered that the ‘lifesaver’ product - which was often referred to as Metanium Yellow - had not been seen on supermarket shelves for some time.
The product, which is formulated to help soothe and treat a baby’s delicate skin, relieving irritation and redness, was usually available to buy from a range of high street stores including Superdrug, Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and Savers. It was also often found online on Amazon, Express Chemist and Lloyds Pharmacy.
But just two months ago, it was revealed that the product had completely sold out from these retailers, with many stating that it was no longer available to buy. The Sun contacted representatives for the firm who confirmed the cream is no longer available.
They said: "Thornton & Ross has taken the decision to discontinue Metanium Nappy Rash Ointment. "This is due to constraints that have impacted our ability to guarantee consistent supply and maintain the high standards of excellence we strive for in all our products.".
