Pokémon TCG Pocket explains long-awaited feature and it’s coming very soon

POKÉMON TCG Pocket has been a huge success as people collect and battle their virtual Pokémon cards. While players have been consistently opening packs hoping to get the cards they need, it’s always down to chance what will appear. Ever since the game launched, The Pokémon Company has promised players that they will be able to trade cards with friends, but that hasn’t been made available yet.
However, at the end of last year, it was announced that trading would join TCG Pocket in January, but we hadn’t heard any further information since. The Pokémon Company recently released a statement on social media confirming that trading would be joining the game this month.
Pokémon’s statement also revealed how trading would work, and which cards would be available to be traded. Only cards of diamond or one-star rarity can be traded, and trades will be like-for-like between friends. This means that players will be able to trade standard cards, EX cards, and standard full-art cards, but not full-art EX cards, full-art trainer cards, immersive cards, or gold cards.
Also, if someone trades you an EX card, you will need to trade them an EX card in return. Trading will also require in-game resources, though which resources these will be was not elaborated on. We think that this will either mean that players will need to use Shinedust, similar to how Pokémon Go trades require Stardust, or a new currency will be introduced.
