Richard Osman has addressed rumours that he's taking part in the Traitors' celebrity spin-off - and shared some detail about the star-studded cast. The Pointless presenter was rumoured to be in producers' sights for the celebrity edition, which is set to air later this year. A TV insider told The Mirror last year: "Richard would be a terrific signing. He reckons he knows how to commit the perfect murder so could surely spot a Traitor from 100 paces or outsmart the others if he needs to?.
"He also knows exactly how TV works. Anyone who's seen him on Pointless or House of Games will know how clever he is. And his claim that he's no good at lying seems unlikely.". Now, the TV presenter and producer has spoken out about the rumours on the latest episode of The Rest is Entertainment podcast. In the episode, his co-host Marina Hyde told him: "I'm so desperate for you to do Celebrity Traitors. I can't even tell you," to which Richard said: "I'm not. I'm really not. I'm not even lying - I know some of the name who are." Teasing the famous cast who'll be heading to the Scottish castle, Richard added: "It's going to be brilliant. The casting is brilliant.".
Speaking about casting on the show, Richard said that he feels "so desperately sorry" for the casting directors. "You want great characters who also have a journey to go on and have hidden depths and going to be fun for people to watch and who are also going to make people talk," he said. "You're throwing them into an environment where you know you lose your biggest characters early on - the people you know are going to go on a journey.
