River Island’s £58 check bomber looks just like Barbour’s sold-out £190 Charlene jacket

As Janaury is slowly coming to an end, this means that spring is almost in sight. We’ve still got a few months to go, and the weather doesn’t seem to be making any improvements; however, that doesn’t mean we can’t start prepping for our spring wardrobe. And what’s a spring wardrobe with a lightweight jacket? That’s where River Island’s new check bomber comes in. Just recently launched, the bomber jacket is already proving to be a hit among shoppers and has been dubbed as a ‘trending’ piece on the River Island site. A reason for this is largely due to its similarity to Barbour’s completely sold-out and shopper-loved Charlene Jacket. The Barbour jacket retails for £189, making the River Island version a total bargain at £59. The beige check jacket features a bubble hem design, which is completely on trend for the new season after the bubble hem made its comeback towards the end of last year.
We’re not the only ones who noticed the similarities and became completely obsessed with the River Island jacket, as TikTok user @hansfits posted a video pointing out the likeness to her followers. Her post was flooded with comments praising the bomber's fit, style and price, writing, “Oh my good god, when the Barbour one was sold out, I was gutted! BUYING” and “Buying right now, thank you!!!”.
