Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim dropped the biggest hint yet that Alejandro Garnacho could stay at Old Trafford this month after claiming he's "really happy" with the winger. Garnacho has not had the easiest time at United since Amorim arrived in October, with the Argentine a peripheral figure under the Portuguese coach early on in his reign.
The 20-year-old has struggled for minutes at times and has been linked with the exit door in the January transfer window. Chelsea have been rumoured to be interested in the winger and there has even been rumours he could be involved in a swap deal with Christopher Nkunku.
But Garnacho's game time has been steadily improving in recent weeks after he started two of United's last three league games, while also playing the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 Europa League win over Rangers. Amorim insisted he was "really happy" with Garnacho and the improvements he had made as he hinted the youngster could end up staying at United for the rest of the season.
"He's our player and I'm really happy with Garnacho, he's improving a lot," he said. "I think he had a really good game last Thursday [vs Rangers]. "He's a young kid so he can recover very well, he's prepared for this game and we want to use all the talent of Garnacho to win this game.".
Garnacho has also been linked with Napoli, with the Serie A team reportedly having a bid of around £42million rejecting by United. It's understood United want to keep hold of their star talent but there has been claims that the Red Devils could be convinced to sell him to ensure they don't fall foul of PSR rules.
