Ruben Amorim's Man Utd woes laid bare as Harry Maguire makes Erik ten Hag point

Harry Maguire says Ruben Amorim is the complete "opposite" to Erik ten Hag and believes a lack of time on the training pitch is behind the new Manchester United manager's "tough" start. United have lost their last three games in all competitions under Amorim as they slumped to 14th in the Premier League following a 2-0 defeat to Wolves on Boxing Day, with goals from Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-chan earning the hosts a huge victory.
Reflecting on the defeat, Maguire lifted the lid on Amorim's approach and compared it to Ten Hag's. "I think it's really tough for the manager and his team coming in because it's not like he's come in with a similar style to the old manager," Maguire admitted.
"They are the opposite in terms of what they demand and what they want, so it's tough for them because they know they want to work with the team on the training pitch and improve things and the defending principles and the set piece principles. "So it has been a tough month with games but again we don't want to use it as an excuse. This club demands winning and at the moment we're not. It's not good enough for us and the fans.".
Cunha gave Wolves the lead directly from a corner, with the ball looping over everyone and nestling in the back of the net. No side has conceded more goals from corners this season than United's nine and Maguire believes teams are starting to target them.
