BBC One's Silent Witness is back with the final two-part instalment of the season, featuring a dramatic scene where six individuals are killed in a Syrian pizza restaurant shooting. Emilia Fox's Nikki Alexander and David Caves' Jack Hodgson are tasked with identifying the shooter before they can cause further harm. A suspect is pinpointed through CCTV footage, but he is found dead, allegedly by suicide, using the same distinctive bullets used in the attack. The first part of this gripping tale airs tonight, February 3, with the season finale following on February 4 at 9pm.
The regular cast, including new additions Harriet (Maggie Steed) and Kit (Francesca Mills), will return. Amidst solving another perplexing case, Nikki finds time to browse for wedding dresses. However, the demanding nature of their work means that both Nikki and Jack struggle to make time for such significant life events. The 54 year old actor has also appeared as Shaun Temple in Doctor Who and Jack Whiteley in Magpie Murders. His brother, Johann Myers, is also an actor. Joe Absolom, best known for his role as Matthew Rose in EastEnders, portrays Calvin. The 46 year old actor has also starred as Al Large in Doc Martin and played real-life murderer Christopher Halliwell in the drama A Confession. The actor is happily married to Liz Brown and they share three children.
Robert Lonsdale, known as Alex in the show, is a 41 year old actor and musician who has appeared in Coronation Street and Chewing Gum. He's mostly recognised for his theatre roles but recently featured in an episode of Call the Midwife. Matthew Aubrey, playing Bobby, is best known for his roles as Brian in Made in Dagenham and Jonty in Kiss Me First. His other notable performances include Until I Kill You, Steeltown Murders and Keeping Faith.
Adeyinka Akinrinade, portraying DS Leslie Davies, recently played Chantelle in Champion and Alesha Richards in Riches. She's also made guest appearances in Grantchester, A Discovery of Witches and Top Boy. Amy Nuttall, playing Peggy, is a 42 year old actress and singer known for her roles as Chloe Atkinson in Emmerdale and Ethel Parks in Downton Abbey. She shares two children and was married to actor Andrew Buchan until 2022. She previously dated fellow Emmerdale cast member Ben Freeman for four years.
Seosaimhin Hennelly, playing Dawn, is a child actress who has previously starred in Insomnia and Casualty. She's currently working on several new projects including Frostlands and My Sister's Bones. Joe Frost, known as Doug in the show, is best known for his role as Leo Thompkins in Coronation Street. His other credits include Boiling Point, The Sandman and Bard from the Barn. Beatrice White, predominantly recognised for her theatre roles, recently featured in an episode of The Archers as Scarlett.
Police Sergeant Kate Fry is portrayed by Scarlett Courtney, known for her role as pupil midwife Janice Cowan in Call the Midwife. She's also lent her voice to the podcast series Body Horror and made guest appearances in the Doctor Who podcast series. Akram Rahul is played by 43 year old actor Stephen Uppal, familiar to audiences for his role as Ravi Roy in Hollyoaks, as well as parts in Freight and The History Boys.
Darcy Wallace, about whom little is currently known, takes on the role of a thief, potentially marking their acting debut. Penny Morris, an Irish actress primarily known for her theatre work, plays a young teacher, possibly making this her first TV appearance. Silent Witness airs on BBC One on Monday, February 3 at 9pm.
