Squid Game Season 2 release date, new cast and plot unveiled as history-making survival thriller returns The second season of Squid Game has been lauded as a sensation by South Korean stars, who were taken aback by the dystopian thriller's global success.
Filming for the second season kicked off in July 2023, with the storyline following Gi-hun (portrayed by Lee Jung-jae), who seeks vengeance a year after emerging victorious in the Squid Game.
He re-enters the deadly game with the aim of defeating the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) and putting an end to the game once and for all.
He is accompanied by police officer Jun-ho (Wi Ha-joon), the brother of the Front Man, who endeavours to assist him in halting the game and rescuing his sibling.
In the game, he will once again form alliances with new players, including his mate Jung-bae (Lee Seo-hwan), to ensure maximum survival.
